Alive and Kicking

Does anyone else feel like you went to bed one night and woke up to find you missed summer? I don't know how it can be September already...guess time flies when you are having fun or just plain busy.
I have had a fairly quiet and uneventful summer in comparison to the past two years. All my medical issues have been dealt with and I am back on track feeling better than ever. I am really enjoying my job at the Community Living and am actually now just taking a break from planning my lessons for the week. We are going to be covering the story Stone Soup and I want to break it into 4 lessons involving nutrition, science, art and community service...should be a fun and interesting week...hope the folks enjoy it. At the end of the week everyone will contribute something to the pot and we will all feast on our efforts while learning about teamwork : )
As for the weather...Hurricane Irene missed us. We had some strong winds and rain but definitely not a hurricane. Even my gazeebo survived it!!
The only real setback I had this summer was the water pump going on my car leaving me stranded for three weeks while I hunted down a mechanic to fix it for a decent price. Mission accomplished and I am mobile once again. Thanks must be mentioned to my friend Elsie for loaning me her car on occasion to get to work...where would we be without good friends when we are in need??
I guess that's it for now...I am here...happy and healthy. Alive and when necessary...kicking!!
I am dedicating this post to my cousin Colleen who passed away suddenly on August 30th. I know she enjoyed my blogs, so my friend....this one's for you! ...xoxo
