So, I called my realtor, Brandon McGee to see if he could drop by to assess my house and give me an idea how much I could sell it for. The house behind me, and across the street came on the market for $415,000 and I wondered I was in that range.
Brandon came down and suggested we look at the other house to see if I would even like it. After that we came back to my house and he figures we could list mine for $399,000. Now he asks if I want to put in an offer on the other house. This was not my intention for his visit and caught me off guard. I off handedly said $385,000? Surprisingly he said that was a strong offer and that he could send someone down to take pictures of mine and get it listed! YIKES!!!! Neither me or my house are ready for that step.
It's been one week and my whole house has been decluttered and cleaned. All I have left to do is replace the floor in my bathroom upstairs, put a coat of paint on my kitchen cupboards and a runner on my stairs.
Sometimes it's a quick decision like this to light a fire under one's butt and get things done that have been put off til tomorrow.
Well, the opportunity came up so with a leap of faith I have jumped. I have until the end of May to sell. If I can't sell my house by then, it just means I get to continue living in my dream house and downsizing will just have to wait.
Either way, it's a win, win situation!
Wish me luck 😃
