A Winndow Opened

So, I called my realtor, Brandon McGee to see if he could drop by to assess my house and give me an idea how much I could sell it for. The house behind me, and across the street came on the market for $415,000 and I wondered I was in that range.

Brandon came down and suggested we look at the other house to see if I would even like it. After that we came back to my house and he figures we could list mine for $399,000. Now he asks if I want to put in an offer on the other house. This was not my intention for his visit. Surprisingly he said that my offer was a strong one and that he could send someone down to take pictures of mine and get it listed! YIKES!!!! Neither me or my house are ready for that step.

It's been one week and my whole house has been decluttered and cleaned. All I have left to do is replace the floor in my bathroom upstairs, put a coat of paint on my kitchen cupboards and a runner on my stairs.

Sometimes it's a quick decision like this to light a fire under one's butt and get things done that have been put off til tomorrow.

Well, the opportunity came up so with a leap of faith I have jumped. I have until the end of May to sell. If I can't sell my house by then, it just means I get to continue living in my dream house and downsizing will just have to wait.

Either way, it's a win, win situation!

Wish me luck 😃

What Happened to January?

January went by so fast this year, probably a good thing since it was so cold! Temperatures dipped down below-25 C. We did get some substantial snow which has stayed due to the low temperatures but now we are feeling warmer air, between - 10C up to +10C on my deck.

Baking lots of bread has helped pass the time until Eric comes back. His surgery went well and he got the cast off his arm around the end of January.  He has had some heart tests done and chest xrays and is still waiting  on those results. His plan is to fly down on February 22nd.

Next projects include painting my kitchen cupboards and putting new floor and vanity in the upstairs bathroom.

Today I went to view a house I am interested in purchasing.  My realtor,  Brandon McGee took Billy and I through it and then came to give me an idea what to list mine for. We decided on an offer so now I just have to wait to hear back. This wasn't what I was expecting to do today, I really just wanted to know what I could list my house for so I knew what I had to work with. It's a little bittersweet to think of moving from this house, I really do love it and have put a lot of work into it. It is just a lot of house for me once I retire so it's time to move on to my next chapter.

I'm also looking forward to a trip to Ontario in April. Can't wait to see everyone, especially Brooke and my grandbabies!

So there's my big, little update for February.
