Wasn't That A Party?!!

The bed was so comfy and the blankets so warm I just didn't want to get up. It was Saturday and the reason for my return...Dad's 80th Birthday party! Jane was up and ready to go early today and headed off by herself to the market so I took my time in the shower then spent another gruelling hour on the computer. Even though dial up is s......l......o......w, it still served it's purpose and I was grateful to have the access when needed. It wasn't long before Jane returned with fresh lemon danishes and Tim Horton's coffee for breakfast. She even set up a smoking area for me on the front step with a comfy loveseat and an ashtray dating back to the 1970's or earlier...very retro! I glanced through the Brantford Expositor, honestly I only read my horoscope, had my coffee and smoke then went downstairs to do some laundry. While I was in my room I heard someone call downstairs, "Ok woman...what'd you buy???" It sounded like Lyndon but I just talked to him yesterday and he was working on getting my new kitchen taps installed. Low and behold it was him and he brought Madison my cockapoo with him. Now it was my turn to be suprised! He had left New Brunswick at 9pm Friday night and arrived at Jane's just after noon on Saturday. Suprises are great, well the good ones are any way and this was definitely a good one. Dad and mom were going to be suprised as well!

Jane and I left Lyndon to have a nap before we would have to leave for Port Dover, and went to do a bit of grocery shopping.

Shopping and napping done it was time to head out yet again. Jane and I drove her car and Lyndon took his car as he was going to his sister's in Waterford to drop off Madison to be dogsat during the party.

I was looking forward to seeing dad and mom again along with my siblings. It was worth the wait, everyone looked great and we all enjoyed a delicious meal at the Cove Room in Port Dover. I left the restaurant with a sated appetite and all the recipes for the scrumptious Cove Room salads and celery bread. Mission accomplished! Good food, good family and friends...good time had by all!
